Computing
Computer science at Teddington School encourages students to become digitally connected by using computational thinking and creativity to make sense of and interact with the fast-moving digital world.
Computing underpins a broad curriculum which is designed to develop students’ confidence in their technical skills by using principles of information and computation; how digital systems work, and how to put this knowledge to use through programming.
Students are encouraged to be inquisitive, and explorative in a responsible way in their use of technology. The curriculum builds with opportunities to revisit prior learning to ensure that all students continue to engage with computer science.
They learn fundamental, lifelong skills which are transferrable in other subjects and future careers. Computer science is a problem-solving based subject, with innovation at the heart of KS4 and KS5. All students gain a technical and analytical understanding of computing and how information technology fits into society.
