At Teddington School, every student engages with the knowledge and skills in science that will enable them to interact with science throughout their lives. Students of all abilities and aspirations access the inclusive curriculum in a spiral to continually build and embed concepts and ideas.
The rich and varied curriculum challenges our students, as they are encouraged to develop a sense of curiosity around the Ten Big Ideas. Retrieval practice is built into our curriculum to cement students’ long-term retention of knowledge. Teachers use their expertise to challenge students to bridge theory and practice by linking scientific theories to their everyday experiences. Students are given opportunities to think like scientists and develop scientific vocabulary during practical investigations and exploration.
