Drama
At Teddington School, students who study Drama have a long-lasting appreciation for the world of performance spanning over film, theatre and literature exploring a range of cultures and practitioners. Creativity is the bedrock of the subject, where students feel safe to take risks and explore the unknown. They are encouraged to become confident and articulate orators and performers, able to take on a variety of roles with empathy.
Students apply a range of dramatic techniques, such as working as an ensemble or a solo, to a varied curriculum which explores a variety of gritty and relevant themes and issues as well as historical topics. Studying drama and supports skills in other subjects, such as presenting, analysing and considering a range of viewpoints.
Drama is fully inclusive at Teddington, and students are encouraged to express themselves no matter what their starting points are, whether this is in lesson or in one of the extra curricular opportunities. Students, whether they are performing or playing a different role, are always respectful of others and engaged in the wider implications of whatever they are learning.
